Oh cool, is that the JustFlight one? I have their Hurricane which they gave away in one of their newsletter promos a few years ago and she's nice to fly. I've had half an eye on their 109 and the Spit for a while now. I had the old box set of the Battle of Britain memorial flight they brought out for FS2000/2002.(actually had a Battle of Britain Hurricane veteran as one of my patients about 20 years ago who insisted that it was actually the Hurricane that won that fight but then, he would say that wouldn't he ). Hey gspectre, I know what you mean with the Spitfire not haveing guns. Thats why i wont buy it. Yes im sure it looks great and flys great but still its a fighter so why not have a checkbox option to add weapons if you want them.

Im sorry i bought the steam aerosoft f-16 because i cant add Capt. Sims weapons pack to any of Aerosofts planes.

Same thing with there f-14. When i add weapons to the f-16 then the plane wont fly right, nothing in the vc works.

Yes i know this is not a combat sim, but steam-fsx is a great platform to work with so why not have the choice to have weapons or not. With Capt sims weapons i can drop the atomic bomb on my house or shoot down ai planes from the stock 172.

For me its fun to fire rockets and machine guns at things, beside just flying the planes and looking around. Its not just Aerosoft but i have the same issue with the A2A B-17. I mean why have a bomber if i can not drop bombs. With there extra pack and weapons added i can not get the bomb-bay doors to open or nothing in the vc works. I wanted to buy aerosoft huey x, but did not see any gunship model with door gunners or rocket pods so i wont buy it.

Here is a line from the steam/f-16 manual. ' Also we decided not to do any offensive or defensive stuff, FSX is not a military simulator and it will at best besome nice effects. Not good enough in our mind. So no bombs that fall or missiles that track helpless B747s'. Not a military simulator. Then why have military planes? Aerosoft acts like your really shooting down a real helpless b747.

FSX could be anything you want it to be. Its all about haveing fun or just flying. Again what about the choice.

RobertYep, that was my point. If this sim can not simulate aircraft used in combat, then those aircraft should not be made for this sim. With that said, I do hope DFS will include the ability to fly and use these aircraft. I'm okay if it is not up to the same level as Eagle Dynamics but think of how interesting it would be to organize a group of friends and re-enact missions from past wars through the use of an ATC.

As long as there is damage modeling enabled in the sim, it could be up to creator like A2A to build the aircraft and worry about the specs on the weapons systems and damage yield. Hi mickeytwc I have the VRS tacpack but for me its to complex and you can only fly jet fighters in it and there are no ww2 bombers like the b-17 for it. The Spitfire is a beautiful plane and i really dont need the guns to be there. With Capt sims weapons you dont need for any guns to be there. Like i said before, you can use weapons on any plane like a C-172, if it does not have the Shift 2d panels. It looks to me that the picture of the Steam Spitfire on there DLC page has lights flashing from the wings and busted caps comeing off it like it was fireing guns. But even if it has the gun effects, maybe like the useing the I key like other fighters out there, i can not load captsim weapons because it has the 2dpanels.

I been all over the flight sim forums tryin a workaround to get the weapons 2dpanels to work with the planes 2dpanels, but no luck yet. If the weapons 2d panels are there then the planes 2dpanels dont work and the planes dont fly. The planes 2d panel. Are there but they dont work. By the way i dont work for Capt. I just think there weapons pack is a fun product and its only about 20 bucks.

I also have there B-707,757,L1011 and the C-130 and they install and work great on steam-fsx. And of course they dont have shift 2d panels. Do any of you guys no how to have the weapons pack to work with the Aerosoft steam f-16 because it has shift 2d panels. Thanks for any help and always have a safe flight.
