Hi thereI would appreciate if you could please help me locate a FREE CameraRAW plugin for Photoshop 7.I bought a D Rebel XT this week (my first DSLR), and as a result I amcompletely broke. And I have got no photo gear left to sell - Isold everything (except for my EF lenses) to pay for the XT.I am going to have to keep on using Photoshop 7 for quite sometime, and buying CS (or upgrading) is NOT an option right now.

Is there anychance this, now-obsolete plug-in for PS 7 available for FREEdownloading somewhere on the net?Thank you very much. Even if you could find this plug in at any proice you'll have a major problem; ti doesn'tsupport your camera.

Every camera has it's own way of creating or coding 'raw' data andthe software makers, since companies like Canon and Nikon, etc are generally notinterested in working closely (if at all) with companies like Adobe or Phase One,etc.,those software makers have to engineer a way to make their raw converters work witheach new popular camera as it comes out. I think this is one of the prime reasons Adobe isdeveloped and is promoting the open source DNG raw conversion scheme. In the meantime try using Canon's software. Ellis, Emre, Richard, Jack, thank you very much. Because I use W98SE, most cheaper third party software will not work on my machine (I have checked out the one mentioned above).DCRAW on the other hand, at least according to what the designer argues is really promising. The raw conversion comparisons displayed on the site of Canon's software and this little 'c' program is a little hard to believe though - I cannot help thinking there might be some intervening variables there. The Canon software is utterly unusable according to the site!

In any case I followed all the steps listed on the site to transform my Irfanview program into a windows graphical interface type raw converter that can even handle the latest camera, the XT. I cannot wait to compare this against Canon's software (My XT should be delivered some time this week.). Thanks especially for the DCRAW tip.
