Dataease 4.53 Install
Please.I've just gotten NT 3.5 installed. Everything is working as it shouldexcept DataEase 4.53.

I can only get DataEase to run through the DOSprompt or File Manager using the DEASE.EXE command. DE16M.EXE givesme a divide overflow error. Even using DEASE.EXE I've had somecomprehensive processes choke.I'm sure this problem is user(me) and my newness to NT, but this iskilling me. My office got me a fairly nice machine with the hopes ofusing NT or Windows 95 just so we could speed up our process, of whichDataEase is a good 60%. I forwarded your question to him and asked him to comment and thisis his reply:-There is no answer other than to say that DE is not certified to run under NT.I have run DE16M using a PIF file just like I would under Windows but therewere a number of problems with forms going inconsistant. DataEase has nevergotten along well with lazy write caches. As to Win95, the jury will have toremain out until the final product ships because there are so many differentversions of Win95 out there now it is almost impossible to test. However, Iexpect to have problems with the lazy writes that are an integral part ofWin95 as well. When choosing an operating system, it is important to rememberthat backward compatability with older programs is not guaranteed. Architekt pro 6 keygen mac free.
In thecase of Win95, MS is trying very hard to accomodate older 16bit and DOSapplications. So hard in fact that they may be compromising the product.WinNT makes no guarantees at all. In fact, reports are that some Windows16bit apps run slower under WinNT than they did under Windows 3.1. Icurrently run DE16M on a 486DX4 with 16MB of memory and Windows forWorkgroups. We use Novell 3.12 as a file server and I also have connectionsto SQL Server 4.21 running on Windows NT 3.5. I get great performance acrossthe board and usually have 4-5 windows open at the same time.-I realize this does not sound promising but if you could find a way to disablethe NT lazy-write cache?:-)Regards - -ge-.
